*Spoiler Alert:This post contains information about the series*

Ok,many would say the producers went an extra mile to bring this out. And I totally agree. The first episode kicks off with a dead nun being brought into a church with three other nuns. One is left thinking: what are nuns doing with snipers and shotguns? And even cussing!(let alone in Church😂)I believe this was such a great start of the series as it brings the viewer closer to what the show is really about: demon-hunting nuns.

A halo(yes, the one you see on top of angels' heads)is taken out of her back and 'accidentally' lands in a dead girl's body.Ava(Alba Baptista), the dead girl, miraculously resurrects and is yet to be the star of this Series.

Throughout the Series, there is an openly evident tussle between the Church and Science. The Church accuses Arq Tech;a tech company;of being in possession of Divinium,a rare metal which the Church believes should be in its possession only.Dr.Jillian Salvius(Thekla Reuten) and Kristian(Peter de Jersey),managers of this company, also believe there's a completely different way to get to heaven. This conflict therefore fuels most of the wars raged against them by the demon-hunting nuns.

Ava is also taken by most of the nuns as having taken a juicy chunk out of their mouths. The halo she bears belonged to Sister Lilith(Lorena Andrea),who was to inherit it from Sister Shannon(Melina Matthews).
Ava,who was formerly quadriplegic; now walks and is in blatant disregard of the power from the halo.

This therefore breeds a vicious conflict of a girl who neither believes in God nor heaven yet possessing such a powerful gift; making her fall out with most of the nuns.
She later develops into a rather 'naïve' leader of the nuns, making them combat different entities that are against the Church.

In the Series, trust is not to be granted to anyone; not even the ones closest to you.Father Vincent (Tristàn Ulloa),who seems to be holding up the Order of the Cruciform Sword, betrays it right at the end. Cardinal Durretti(Joaquim de Almeida),who had been portrayed as the devil incarnate throughout the season, has the script playing right with him in the last episode.

The last episode ends in a rather heated stage where Father Vincent's faction of the Church is fighting Cardinal Duretti's faction-making the viewer really yearn for Season 2.

Kudos
The series creators did a good job,I believe. Recreating what originally would happen in the 17th Century while coupling it with modern scenes was excellent.

Also, the infusion of Italian and Spanish culture makes it seem so original and tasty.

There is also a great taste of characters who are diverse in their own way, making it fun to watch.

Downside
There are some bits of blasphemy in the show and this would be a turn off to some viewers.Either way, these bits won't hurt.

Despite what one would call 'mishaps',I believe this is a great series. It's a coming of age series which would not only trigger intellectual stimulation but also entertain you to the brink of getting glued to your screen for hours.

Rating:8.5/10
