Britannia Season 1: A Must Watch

Britannia Season 1:A must watch
Romans have a mission to invade Britannia-an island-in a quest to expand their empire. The soldiers are in great fear- they have heard of Britannia as an island with oceans infested with poisonous snakes and squids and demons for men.

It is rather ironical of what the Romans find in Britannia-a greatly divided land. The three tribes inhabiting the land:the Regni,Canti and Druids can't even unite against the Romans.

Perfectly coincidental that on the night of the Romans' invasion it is when Cait is to undergo her initiation into womanhood. Her life seems to tumble down on her important day;her father is taken captive and her sister,Islene is killed. However, throughout the season, you come to find out that she is destined for greater exploits-there is a prophecy that she will be a great person and save her people from the Romans.

Throughout the season you come to meet many twists and turns which I can say are exciting and surprising. Just to name a few;Phelan does not take up the the throne after his father's death while the Romans attack the Regni tribe viciously after pretending to be allies.

The ninth episode leaves you at crossroads: Queen Kerra(Kelly Reilly)of the Cantii is dead and is replaced by Amena(Annabel Scholey) while the Regni tribe is destroyed.

This leaves one with great interest of what is to happen in the second season. Seems things are going to be run differently in the subsequent seasons.

Kudos

The casting has breathtakingly beautiful scenes: beautiful beaches, forests and rivers. There is also a great choice of characters which makes you jump into times when Romans were the real deal.

Digs
It doesn't employ much comedy.(GOT lovers would be out).

Verdict
I won't lie: you should watch this series. Vintage movie lovers;this is what to go for.It is captivating;made me up all night.
